Donating household goods

Most of the families, who have stayed at Monte Cecilia House, will have very little when they leave to furnish a new home.  So, we rely on donations of household goods from parishes, Friends of Monte and YOU!

Steve and Kiri take their Ford Transit Van weekly to many homes picking up donated beds, bedding, lounge suites and household goods to help families who are ready to leave Monte Cecilia House..  We are truly grateful and quite often overwhelmed by the compassion shown from those in the community who so generously donate such goods to Monte.

All the families have been thrilled to know that they can confidently set up home once they leave Monte Cecilia House.  We receive calls from our ex-residents thanking us and saying they could never have managed to set up their homes without such kindness and support.

Monte is always in need of donated beds, single and double, lounge suites, chairs and tables, and household goods such as: crockery, cutlery, pots and pans and anything else that will create a comfortable home.  For the kids we are always looking for toys, books, games and clothing.

We also accept food donations especially canned goods.  Our supporting Catholic parishes will often have collections or appeals during Mission week for donations of food to Monte.

If you have something along these lines that you could to donate to help our families, please contact Elaine Lolesio, email: housing@montececilia.org.nz
