Donated to Monte Cecilia by Bourke and Karen OConnor (Bourke Monte Trust Board member). It was made some 30 years ago by a prisoner incarcerated in a Peruvian jail. Bourkes brother, Fr Tony O’Connor SM spent many years in Peru and used to visit the prison.

The hanging was made from a photo of the “Maori Madonna” stained glass window that is in the little catholic church down in the marae in Little Waihi at the southern end of Taupo. This is the home of Tu Wharetoa. This has been hung in our community / training room at Windrush.
