Passing it on to the tamariki

Before coming to Monte Cecilia, Mary* had never written a budget before, but since joining the Monte Cecilia F.A.I.T.H. Money Programme she has been able to step back and see where her money is going and target areas where she can make savings. 

Recently completing six workshops and now starting a series of six one-on-one mentoring sessions, she is now sharing what she has learned with her four children, aged 9-14 years. These including dividing between personal ‘wants’ and ‘needs’ and prioritising the needs.  

By identifying that they will need to replace their vehicle next year with a van, she and her husband have been able to develop a plan and make financially sound decisions to prepare for this incoming expense and achieve their goal.
